Geesink Studio is a design studio, specialized in creating
characters and mascots, their concepts and development in publishing,
animation and merchandising.
The studio is the continuation of the former film- and design studio’s of Joop Geesink (1913-1984). His daughter Louise Geesink continued the studio’s and took over a.o. the care of his creation Loeki the Lion. This little lion was a television star for 32 years, as mascot of the commercial broadcasting station ‘Ster’. In time more than 7000 short animations were made and shown many times daily, making him a well loved character.
For the drawing of the various Geesink artwork the studio turned to illustrator Wil Raymakers, well known for his animal cartoons ‘Boes’.
In the following twenty years Louise and Wil worked closely together, creating many happy characters and accompanying them to their careers in print, multimedia and merchandise in Holland and beyond.
